On May 16th 2023, the annual KAIST Research Day was held on campus. Along with various creative and challenging research awards, the Top 10 Research Achievements of 2022 was presented and our lab's work on ultrasound stimulation was honored as one of the ten. A short clip introducing the research was shown at the event, which was uploaded to YouTube. Congratulation to all.

Our work related to ultrasound modulation has been recently featured in the Youtube channel "Unreal Science (안될과학)", which is the top science channel in Korea.

Video Description : Real-time stimulation of front lobe of the brain to control sleep and short-term memory? This is a study led by Yehhyun Jo (PhD program) at Professor's Hyunjoo Jenny Lee of the School of Electrical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) research team, and Dr. Kim Jung-yeon research team at the Korea Institute of Brain Research (KBRI)...

Visualization of focused ultrasound in high spatial and temporal resolution is crucial for accurately and precisely targeting brain regions noninvasively. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most widely used noninvasive tool for whole-brain imaging. However, focused ultrasound studies employing high-resolution (> 9.4 T) MRI in small animals are limited by the small size of the radiofrequency (RF) volume coil and the noise sensitivity of the image to external systems such as bulky ultrasound transducers. This technical note reports a miniaturized ultrasound transducer system packaged directly above a mouse brain for monitoring ultrasound-induced effects using high-resolution 9.4 T MRI...
