과학기술정보통신부와 한국연구재단이 추진하는 뇌과학원천기술개발사업의 지원을 받은 KAIST 이현주 교수 연구팀이 뇌연구원 김정연 박사와 함께 진행한 '수면장애 제어를 위한 비침습적 국소적 뇌자극 시스템 개발 연구'가 뇌과학원천기술개발사업 최종평가 우수 과제로 선정되어 한국연구재단의 9월호 웹진에 카드뉴스로 홍보되었습니다. 연구진은 90도 각도로 두 개의 초음파를 입사, 중첩시켜 우울증과 관련된 뇌 영역을 자극하는데에 성공했습니다. 이번 연구는 초음파의 입사각 제어를 통해 초음파 자극이 전달되는 부위의 크기를 현저하게 줄이고 초음파 뇌 자극의 정밀도를 높였다는데에 큰 의미가 있습니다. 자세한 내용은 아래 링크에서 확인하실 수 있습니다.
